Dear CAHN Members,
As we begin the
new year, we begin with a renewed level of confidence knowing that we have
survived a year of challenges, turmoil and lots of uncertainty in our
country. Not to say that this year won't bring its own challenges,
turmoil and uncertainty but we can rely on the idea we have survived last year
and are ready to take on whatever comes our way.
As we continue to
plan for our upcoming 2018 conference, I am grateful for this organization
and what it offers our membership. I am also very thankful for all those
who have served this organization the last few years and the wonderful work they
did to ensure CAHN remains strong. We are very blessed to have several
new members who have joined the CAHN board. Our new Vice President Angela
Averiett brings with her prior experience as a board member and strong
leadership skills from being a Lieutenant at Hayward PD. We are very
fortunate to add Tim Hunter as a Conference Chair. Tim brings with him
prior experience as a Conference Chair as well as being a CAHN member for
several years and a wealth of knowledge as a negotiator. We have several
new board members in the north and south regions, such as Greg Hogan, Domino
Scott-Jackson, Andrew Liu, and Lew Shaver.
The planning for
the 2018 CAHN Conference is in full swing. You will be happy to know we have
an exciting new venue for the conference. The 2018 Conference will be
held at the Los Angeles Marriott Burbank Airport in Burbank, California.
We have already begun canvassing and assessing new speakers for the
conference. This hotel will provide the perfect location to host all of
our guest and members during the conference. We will also be close to
Universal Studios for anyone interested in exploring after hours or
bringing their families. So, as you begin to plan the new year and what
it will bring, I hope you remain safe and continue to fight the good
fight. Til we meet again.
