Greetings members, I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year and hope that your holidays were full of joy and happiness as you celebrated with your loved ones.

I also want to thank everyone who participated in the CAHN elections.  Each vote submitted was beneficial to each of the participating candidates and we all appreciate you taking the time to vote.

Your CAHN Board met mid-January and has already begun the preparations for the next conference to be held at the Hyatt Regency Orange County (Garden Grove).  I can assure you; Tim Hunter (Conference Chair), has been hard at work in search of quality presentations to bring to you.  We didn’t take too much time off since the conclusion of the last conference in La Quinta, which by the way turned out to be a great event.  Everyone on the board is eager to bring you a good conference and we are working hard at doing our part.

I personally read your comments submitted during and at the conclusion of the last conference and appreciate you taking the time to provide your personal comments.  We will attempt to accommodate as best as we can.  However, for now rest assure we are hard at work for you.

As expected, the movement that came with the recent elections brought some adjustments / appointments.  In the Northern Region, Douglas Richardson – Director, was appointed as the Vice President.  Returning to our board is past President - Matthew Thomas.  Matt was appointed as the Northern Region Director.  In the Southern Region, Stuart Scott was appointed as the Region Treasurer.  I would like to thank all for volunteering their time as they have been appointed in their respective assignments for the remainder of the year.

During our January meeting we made several much-needed improvements to our bylaws and policies.  In addition, training was a big topic and I requested both Region Directors to make sure they made the effort to provide training to all the corners of their perspective regions.  We represent all of you and we should bring the training as close as possible to you and not have you continually make the long trek to us.

We strive to provide you the best service we can and hope we are meeting our goal.  Should any member have any training suggestions or ideas, please feel free to reach out to any one of us and share your thoughts.  We welcome the input.

Lastly, evil continues to lurk in the shadows.  I urge you to be safe and look out for each other as you go out to protect the citizens in your communities.  In addition, I ask you to keep our fallen brothers / sisters as well as their families in your prayers.  Unfortunately, we lose far too many each year as we try to keep the public safe from the evil that roams the streets.

See you soon and Thank You for What You Do!
